Who can participate


The national civil service is open to all young people of Italian nationality (including those resident abroad), men and women aged 18 to 28 who enjoy civil and political rights, have never been convicted in court and who are physically fit . It lasts 12 months with a commitment of  30 hours per week. For the volunteers there will be a monthly fee of about 433 euros (to which must be added another EUR 15 bonus for each day spent abroad for the young men that undertake this type of service).
The activity does not lead to the establishment of an employment relationship and does not involve the suspension and cancellation from employment or mobility lists.
The year of service is recognized for the purposes of retirement benefits, provides free health care and the recognition of a points system in the public competitions and of credits gained by the affiliated universities. Further advantages are expected from the regional legislation.
